Rusty
I feel rusty blogging today: it seems like it's been forever since I
last blogged ;) But what better way to remove the rust than write?
New year's eve was fun. Both Alli and I were sick in the days before
NYE, leading us to cancel our New York city trip, but then we felt
marginally better on 12/31, enough to go out for dinner and drinks at
Mantra. They charged a $60 cover just to get in (without an open bar),
so the dinner deal was good since it included that cover. And,
partially to my surprise, the place was packed, so the price clearly
wasn't a problem for too many people. Alli and I snagged good spots
for people-watching, a nice thing to do when you don't have the energy
to dance all night, although we did get much alcohol spilled on us
from tipsy people bumping into each other ;)
Today the new SDM class is starting. Good luck! I've volunteered to
help run the January design challenges, including judging the robotics
competition modeled after the DARPA Grand Challenge II, and helping
the new students with common questions about MIT, class selection,
thesis writing, and more.
I also managed to complete all my courses (including my thesis) with a
perfect GPA, a nice little achievement of which I'm proud. Now I get
to sleep late for a few days, relax a bit, and contemplate the future.
