My Amazon wishlist worked well
For the few months before my birthday this year, I updated my

Moving and birthday season
As previously noted, Alli and I moved houses a couple of weeks ago.
After that, we had a big yard sale to get rid of unwanted items, and
then gave a whole bunch of stuff to charity. Earlier this week
(September 5th) was my birthday, and we're still celebrating it this
weekend with a bunch more friends. So it's been very busy, and I
haven't been blogging.
I love this time of year though. Fall is right around the corner, and
you can feel it in the air some days. It's crisper and cooler. Of
course, yesterday was still hot and humid, as is today, so we're not
firmly in the fall season yet.
Moving takes up a lot of energy, although for the first time in my
life I think we did a great job of pre-packing and getting rid (via
charity or trash) of many items *before* the move. That was key: the
movers had a much easier job, which they did much more quickly, and we
had less items to unpack.
The yard sale was an interesting experience. It's a good amount of
work, since we had many items to sell, but it was rewarding. We made
more cash than I thought we would, by a significant margin, and met a
